I called behind-the-drywall cable trays a waste of money until I opened up a wall in my own house
For years I ran every TV and internet wire in my place with those cheap adhesive clips, because I figured a plastic channel buried in drywall was just a way to sell me something I did not need. Last fall I finally had to cut into the wall behind the living room TV after a coax connector went bad, and the mess back there was 14 cables zip tied into one fat knot that took me 40 minutes just to sort out. When I put it back together I used a $28 two inch cable tray from the hardware store and now every wire has its own lane, and pulling a new HDMI takes about 90 seconds. I was wrong, plain and simple. Has anyone here run tray in a rental and patched it back up before move out day?
