Appreciation post: My old biscuit joiner finally gave up the ghost last Tuesday

It was a 20 year old Porter Cable that saw me through my first shop, but the motor just locked up mid cut. Anyone have a solid replacement they like under $300?

Twenty years is a good run. That thing earned its retirement. My condolences for the sudden death by biscuit. Time to shop for a new one, I guess.

Yeah, my last one went out after a fight with some oak, and honestly it felt like a mercy killing. You're right though, @lisa_murray, twenty years is a crazy good run. My tools usually just give me a solid decade of service before they start judging my life choices. Shopping for a new one is the weird mix of sad and exciting, like saying goodbye to an old car.

Saw a review on the DeWalt DW682K that said it's a solid workhorse for the price.
