A customer's one remark about drawer slides made me ditch soft-close entirely
Built a full kitchen for a client in Austin last month, and she said 'these feel like a rental car door slamming,' so I swapped to standard ball bearing slides and now I'm wondering if anyone else has had a client call out a hardware trend that everyone else swears by?

I put soft close on everything for a couple years and felt like a genius until a guy asked why his drawers fight back when he shuts them. Told him it was a feature. He looked at me like I just tried to sell him a car with no brakes. Swapped his whole kitchen back to regular slides and he was happier than he ever was with the fancy stuff. Turns out most folks just want a drawer that closes when they push it.
