Why does nobody check the sewer scope before closing?
I put an offer on a 1978 split level in Columbus last month and my realtor never mentioned sewer scoping, so I only found out about it from a plumber friend after closing. The cast iron pipe had a belly and roots growing in, cost me $4,200 to dig up and replace within 3 weeks of moving in. Has anyone else skipped this step and regretted it, or is my plumber friend just extra cautious?
