Went back to my old cast iron skillet after a year with nonstick
I bought a fancy nonstick pan last spring because eggs kept sticking to my 12 inch cast iron. The nonstick was great for about 4 months, then the coating started flaking into my scrambled eggs. I tried two different brands, both around $50 each, and both died the same way. This week I pulled the old skillet out, scrubbed it with salt and oil, and cooked a full breakfast without a single stuck piece. The thing is 15 years old and my grandpa used it before me. I guess I got lazy chasing convenience instead of learning how to season properly. For anyone who gave up on cast iron, what finally brought you back to it or did you just switch to stainless?
