My dad's $40 Mora knife outlasted my $150 bushcraft blade on a 5 day trip in the Ozarks
I brought my fancy 1095 steel knife and he brought his old carbon steel Mora he paid around $40 for back in 2015. Mine chipped on day two batoning through a knotty piece of oak while his just kept going with a quick touch up on a ceramic rod. Now I am wondering if I should just buy a cheap Mora and stop babying expensive knives, has anyone else ditched their pricey blade for something basic?
