Showerthought: our office wifi kept dropping every day at 2pm and it took me 3 weeks to find the real cause
Honestly this one still bugs me. Every single afternoon around 2pm our shop wifi would drop for like 5 minutes and I blamed everything. First I swapped the router, then I had the ISP come out twice, then I moved the access point to a new spot in the ceiling, and each try was a waste. It went on for 3 weeks and it was killing our card readers at the front counter so we'd lose sales during the drop. Turned out the cleaner plugs in one of those big floor waxers upstairs right at 2pm every day and it sits right above the office on the same power circuit. I moved the AP to a different circuit and it's been rock solid since. Cost me probably $400 in ISP visits for a problem that was a power line the whole time. Has anyone else had some random appliance mess with their business setup like that?
