Unpopular opinion: those $40 dot grid stencils are a trap I fell into twice
I bought a set of dot grid stencils for $40 at a craft store in Boise last spring because I thought they would make my weekly spreads look cleaner. After two weeks I realized I was spending 20 minutes lining up the stencil and still getting crooked boxes, and the plastic edges were leaving dents in my notebook paper. I went back to just counting dots by hand and my spreads actually got faster and neater. Forty bucks and maybe six hours of fiddling I will never get back. Has anyone found a stencil that actually stays put, or is freestyle the only way?
