I called the $30 dotted notebook a waste and then my cheap one bled through every page

So for two years I used a $5 grid notebook from the drugstore. Thought everyone paying more was just falling for nice paper pictures on Instagram. Last month I finally caved and got a Leuchtturm because my pens kept ghosting so bad I could not read yesterday's tasks. The difference is not small. No bleed, no ghost, the pages actually lay flat. Now I feel dumb for all the pages I ripped out. What paper do you all swear by, and did you switch because of one bad pen or just got tired of fighting it?
