Heard someone call bujo "just a fancy to-do list" and it got me thinking

I was at a coffee shop in Portland last Saturday and this guy at the next table was showing his friend his planner app. The friend said, "I don't get it, bullet journaling is just a fancy to-do list, right?" I almost choked on my latte. But honestly, it made me look back at my own setup. I've been doing this since 2017, and yeah, the core is tasks. But it's also been my memory keeper, mood tracker, habit chart, and even a place where I sketch my dog. That's way more than a to-do list. Does anyone else feel like their bujo has become something totally different from what they started with? What do you actually use yours for these days?

Mine started as a task system and now it's 40% junk journal. Last month I drew a pie chart of my cat's sleeping positions, which is not a to-do list item, I can promise you. My old setup was rigid columns and now it's got washi tape peeling off the edges and a random pressed flower from a walk in it. If this is a fancy to-do list, then I'm the world's most disorganized person using it to track how many days I watered my fern.
