Showerthought: I finally ditched the impact wrench for a breaker bar on rusty bolts
For a long time I reached for my electric impact every time a bolt was stuck, but after rounding off a 14mm caliper bracket bolt on my 1998 Civic last Saturday, I switched to a 24 inch breaker bar with a pipe extension. It takes longer, but I can feel when the bolt is about to give instead of just hammering it. Cost me $22 at the hardware store in Tempe, and it's already saved me from two more stripped heads. Has anyone else made the jump, or do you still swear by the impact for everything?
