Honestly that's how half my home projects end up, a lesson in patience.

Honestly lisa_jones21 said it perfectly, that's exactly how most of my DIY stuff ends up. I tried painting over wallpaper in my hallway last fall and it was a complete nightmare, the paint just bubbled up everywhere. Took me three days to peel it all off and then I had to patch all these weird spots underneath. Ngl, I've found that just tearing the wallpaper down first is way less painful than trying to cover it up. So yeah, I feel your pain on this one.
