Cleared out 23 dead cables from my drawer this weekend
I finally counted the old HDMI, USB, and power cords I've been hoarding since about 2009. Twenty three of them were completely dead or useless, bent pins, chewed ends, frayed jackets, you name it. That number surprised me because I thought I only had maybe 8 or 9 in that box under my desk. Made me think about all the gadgets those cables used to connect, old cameras, phones with proprietary ports, a printer I haven't owned in a decade. My wife said I should've done this years ago, and she's right. Now I'm down to a small bag of working backups, but I know I'll end up with more broken ones soon enough. Anyone else hit a weird milestone like that when they finally sorted their junk drawer?
