Walked past a 4 story building on Elm St in Cincinnati and counted 6 cracked lintels in one block
Took a walk through the old warehouse district last weekend and nearly every brick lintel on that street was cracked or sagging, with one corner looking ready to drop. What got me is the headers over the windows are fine but the sills underneath are pushed out from years of freeze and thaw, and somebody caulked over it like that fixes anything. Does anyone know a good way to spot old repointing work from the street, because I want to figure out which of these were done wrong or if it's just age?
