Showerthought: chose a Coptic stitch over a double fan for my 600 page sketchbook rebind
Last month I finished rebinding a 600 page sketchbook for a friend, and I had to pick between Coptic stitch and double fan binding. I went with Coptic because it lays flat, even though it took me about 3 hours to punch all the holes. The flat lay is great for sketching across two pages, but the spine feels a bit loose compared to my past double fan projects. If I did it again, I might try a hollow back instead. Has anyone else found a way to keep the flat lay but tighten up the spine?
