The dictionary game that wrecked our book club for a whole meeting

Last month I brought a 1974 Webster's to our club to settle a debate about whether 'gaslighting' was in older editions, and somehow we spent 40 minutes looking up dirty words instead of discussing the novel. My friend Carol found 'pismire' and would not let it go, then someone challenged me to find a word that sounded rude but wasn't. Has anyone else had a reference book or random prop completely derail your discussion, and what was the weirdest word you stumbled on?
