Serious question, am I the only one who was reading the discussion questions before finishing the book?
I used to flip to the back of every book club pick and read the questions first so I'd know what to pay attention to, and I did this for about 6 months straight. Then last month at our meeting in my friend Dana's living room, she asked what I thought of the ending and I said something about the sister's letter, and everyone just stared at me. Turned out that letter came in the last 20 pages and I had spoiled the whole twist for myself without even knowing it. Now I'm trying to decide if reading ahead counts as cheating or just being prepared. Has anyone else done this and felt weird about it?
