Can we talk about the moderator who spoiled the ending on page 1?
At our June meeting in Portland, the moderator handed out printouts with a highlighted spoiler before anyone had even opened the book. I nearly walked out, but instead I asked if we could start with reactions to the first chapter, and that actually got everyone talking. Has anyone else had a leader derail the discussion like that, or am I just unlucky?

That Portland moderator sounds like they totally missed the point of a book club. I had a leader once spoil the twist in chapter 12 just by saying "oh, you'll see why this character does that" and it killed the whole suspense. Good on you for steering it back to chapter one, that takes guts.
