Burned $90 on a speed reading course for book club, and it mostly taught me to skim bad
Back in January I paid $90 for an online speed reading class because our club had 5 books lined up in 8 weeks and I was always the one showing up with half the chapters done. The course was all finger tracing and eye exercises, and by week 3 I was flipping pages fast but missing so much that I got the ending of our thriller pick mixed up with a different book during discussion, which was pretty embarrassing in front of everyone. Did anyone here ever try a reading trick like that and find one that actually helps with a tight club schedule, or do I just need to admit I should start earlier?
