Swapped my coal forge for propane about 6 months ago and my steel moved completely different after the first heat

The flame control is way more consistent and I can actually see the color of the metal without all that smoke, has anyone else noticed their hammer blows land softer with propane because you don't have to rush as much?

Funny you mention that, I got a propane forge last year and the first thing I noticed was how quiet it was compared to coal (you know, no hissing and popping). It's weird how much that changes your whole rhythm, almost like you're not fighting the fire anymore.

@johnfoster That quiet rhythm thing is real, and it's wild how it bleeds into other stuff too - like how having a washing machine that doesn't scream at you makes folding laundry feel less like a chore. Your whole flow just settles down when you're not fighting background noise or panic.
