Vent: Customer said a chain is a chain, why pay for name brand

Had a guy last Tuesday argue that his $7 gas station chain was just as good as the SRAM one I recommended, then his derailleur ate itself on the third ride. Anyone else have customers who think all parts are basically the same?

Has anyone else noticed how those cheap chains wear out your cassette faster too? @alice_reed47 is right about the snapping, but the real cost shows up in damaged parts down the line. You save a few bucks up front and pay double later.
