Dropped $50 on a fancy coffee scale that can't even handle water splashes
I bought this super precise scale last month for $50, thinking it would level up my pour-over game. First time I spilled a tiny bit of water during rinsing, the display started glitching and now it won't turn on half the time. It's supposed to be for coffee gear, but it can't handle a few drops near the buttons? Total waste of money for something that should be durable. Has anyone else had cheap brew scales die on them from normal use?

Man, that's rough. I once dropped my entire chemex on the floor trying to weigh beans, so I guess we're both paying the price for fancy coffee mistakes.

It's funny how we're willing to risk so much just to get that perfect cup... I've been noticing this thing lately where people put all this effort into the tiny details of their hobbies but then totally slack on the big picture stuff. Like, we'll spend twenty minutes dialing in a grind setting but eat a sad microwaved dinner, you know? It's like we're all trying to control these little pieces of our lives when the rest of it is just chaos. Dropping a chemex feels like the universe reminding us that sometimes the plan just fails no matter how careful we are.
