My neighbor swears by morning watering, I do evenings, and now my basil is a mess
Last Tuesday I checked my basil on the balcony and half the leaves were yellow and drooping. I had been watering at 7pm for a month because that fits my schedule, but my neighbor in 4B told me morning is the only right time or the roots rot. I switched to 6am for a week and honestly the plants look worse now, the soil stays wet all day and I spotted two tiny flies buzzing around the pot. So now I'm torn between going back to evenings or trying some middle ground like late afternoon. Has anyone actually tested both times on the same plant and seen a real difference, or is this just one of those things people repeat?
