Friend told me my tomato plants were too crowded - now I'm questioning everything
My neighbor Sarah said I had 6 plants in a 2-foot planter box on my 5th floor balcony in Chicago, and she was probably right. I split them into three separate pots and lost half the leaves from the shock of moving them around. Now I'm wondering if it's better to keep a tight group that supports each other or give each plant its own space. Anyone else get criticized about their setup and end up with a worse result?

Wait, you lost HALF the leaves just from moving them? That's brutal. I've never seen transplant shock hit that hard before. Sounds like Sarah's advice did more harm than good in your case.
