My aunt said to chill the dough for 30 min before shaping, and it saved my sugar cookies
Last Saturday I tried making sugar cookies for my kid's school bake sale and the first batch spread into one giant blob on the sheet. My aunt Carol, who has been baking for like 40 years, said the dough was too warm and to stick it in the fridge for 30 minutes before rolling. I did that with batch two and they held their shape perfectly, all 24 of them. Honestly I felt kind of dumb for not knowing that basic step. Does anyone else have a simple tip like that they wish they'd learned years ago?
