Tried them and they fell apart... not good for messy batters.

Ugh, @blairp88 I feel you on that. So many of those tools look great in the ad but just can't handle real batter. They're way too thin or the material gets weird and sticky. It's such a letdown when you're just trying to make pancakes and end up with a huge mess. I've wasted money on stuff like that before and it drives me crazy.

Actually had the opposite experience with my last one. The thin edge on my turner slides right under delicate pancakes without tearing them. Maybe it's the brand or the coating, but mine doesn't stick at all, even with thick batter. Cleanup is a breeze, just a quick rinse. Guess it really depends on what you pick up off the shelf.
