Question about that 2016 article saying we'd all have self-driving cars by 2020

I was cleaning out my dad's garage in Toledo last month and found a 2016 issue of Wired with a big headline about how every new car would drive itself by 2020. It's funny because my uncle bought a Model 3 back in 2019 thinking he'd just nap on his commute to work, and he still has to keep his hands on the wheel 6 years later. Anyone else keep old magazines like this or have a family member who bought into one of these predictions?
