Thought I'd hate working from home, now I can't imagine going back
I was dead set against remote work for years. Thought people just wanted to slack off in their pajamas. Then my office shut down for 3 weeks last March and I had no choice. After day 4 I realized I was getting more done without the 45 minute commute and random drop-ins. Been fully remote for 2 years now and my boss actually told me my ticket resolution rate went up 30 percent. Anyone else have a complete 180 on something they used to mock?

Yeah the commute thing is what got me too. I used to be the guy making fun of my buddy who worked from home, saying he probably just watched Netflix all day with the cat. Then my shop got flooded and I had to do all my estimates and inventory from a laptop at my kitchen table. Turns out I was somehow getting through my stack of parts orders faster without Dave from the next bay asking me what I thought about the game every 10 minutes. Now I'm the one who gets grumpy if I have to drive anywhere before 9am.

Getting a good routine down for that kitchen table setup makes all the difference. Try blocking off the first 30 minutes just for parts orders or estimates before you even check email or texts. It's wild how much you can crush when Dave isn't breathing down your neck about the game...
