I quit pre-ordering games in 2019 and my backlog finally feels sane
Back in 2019 I had 47 unplayed games across Steam and PS4 because I kept pre-ordering stuff at $60 a pop based on trailers alone. These days I wait for the $20 sale or a big patch, and my backlog dropped to 9 games by last spring. I started doing it after burning 60 bucks on a launch title in 2018 that ran at 24 fps on day one and needed a 12GB patch a week later. Now I treat launch week like a movie trailer and just read patch notes before I buy anything. How many of you actually finish what you pre-order, or does it all just sit in the library?
