Vent: my roommate ran a space heater and the microwave on one power strip for 4 days straight
Last Tuesday the breaker in our Oakland apartment tripped 6 times in one evening because my roommate had her space heater, the microwave, and a hair dryer all daisy chained to one $8 power strip. Instead of unplugging anything, she just kept resetting the breaker in the hallway, and on Friday the strip finally melted a black scorch mark into our carpet before the whole kitchen lost power for 3 days. Am I wrong for telling her she owes me $210 for the electrician, or should I just eat the cost and move out?
