My roommate said I was 'the reason the kitchen stays gross' so I made a chore chart, and it's actually working
So my roommate Dave finally said it to my face after 8 months of us both leaving pots in the sink. He goes, 'You're the reason the kitchen stays gross, you do your dishes like once a week.' I was mad at first but he wasn't wrong, I'd let stuff sit for 3 or 4 days. We sat down that night and made a stupid simple chore chart on the fridge with two names and two days each. Six weeks in and the sink has been empty every single night, which has never happened since we moved in last March. Turns out I just needed someone to say it instead of us both being passive aggressive about it. Anyone else had a roommate call them out and it actually fixed things instead of starting a war?
