Walked behind the TV at my sister's place in Mesa and saw a cord situation that scared me
Stayed with my sister in Mesa last weekend and happened to look behind her TV stand while hunting for an outlet. She has a power strip back there with like 9 things plugged in, and the strip is sitting right on top of a floor vent, so it's been cooking in warm air for who knows how long. The cord bundle was so tight I could not pull one cable free without moving the whole shelf, and one plug felt warm to the touch when I grabbed it. I'm not saying her house is about to burn down, but I unplugged the space heater from that strip before I left and told her to get a real surge protector mounted off the floor. Has anyone dealt with a strip sitting over a vent like that, and did moving it actually help?
