I was wrong about keeping perches low for my pullets

I always thought my young chickens would hurt themselves if they roosted too high. They kept trying to get up there anyway, so I finally let them. Now they sleep way better and I haven't had any issues. It's a small win, but my coop is calmer at night. I'm glad I changed my mind on this one lol.

My hens got sick from roosting in a drafty spot last winter. They don't always know what's best, so we have to guide them.

But is it really a big deal if they roost high or low? Chickens are pretty tough and figure things out on their own most of the time. Seems like we overthink these small changes sometimes!
