Rant: paid a broker $250 deposit to ship my Civic from Phoenix to Denver and never saw the car move
Booked with some outfit called Horizon Auto Transport back in March, they said pickup in 2 days and asked for a $250 deposit up front. Three weeks went by, no driver, and every time I called it was a different person saying my pickup window was "being worked on." Finally canceled and it took another month and about six phone calls to get my deposit back, minus a $50 "processing fee" they never mentioned. Anyone else get hit with a deposit scam like this, and is it actually better to just book straight with a carrier?
