Watched a painter at a shop in Dallas blend a door in 10 minutes and it changed how I spray
I was at a shop in Dallas last week picking up a parts order and the owner let me watch his painter do a spot blend on a silver quarter panel. He used a cheap detail gun with a 1.0 tip instead of his main rig, kept the overlap tight, and misted the blend area with a reduced coat instead of spraying heavy. I had been hammering blend panels with wet coats and chasing halo marks for years. He said the trick is matching your pass speed to the reducer, not the gun. Does anyone else run a small tip for blends or am I late to this?
