That Tuesday in January when my sled died 9 miles out and a stranger saved the whole trip
Took my 2004 Ski-Doo out on the trails near Hayward, Wisconsin back in January and it was running perfect for the first 20 miles. Then around mile 9 past the last warming shack the belt blew and I had no spare because I left it in the truck like an idiot. Sat there for maybe 40 minutes in 5 degree weather before a guy on a Polaris pulled up and asked if I needed help. He had a spare belt that happened to fit and stayed with me until I got it swapped, then followed me back to the lot to make sure I made it. Turned out he was from Eau Claire and just did that run every Tuesday, said he has helped 3 other people that same spot this winter. I bought him lunch at the bar in town after and he wouldn't take cash, just told me to carry a spare from now on. What is the one part you always keep in your pack that has saved a ride for you?
