Everybody says to warm up your snowmobile for 10 minutes before riding. I think that's doing more harm than good.

Totally agree, that long warmup just makes me feel like I'm wasting gas and smelling fumes. Have you tried just giving it a minute or two and easing into a slow ride?

Switched to just a quick 30 second idle this winter before riding off slow, but then my neighbor saw me and came out to tell me about his old diesel truck that needed a full 10 minutes or else it would die at the first stop sign. Makes me wonder if these engines are tougher than we give them credit for or if some people just enjoy standing around in the cold.
