Stopped at a tiny library in Astoria, Oregon and the whole hold shelf was sticky notes instead of receipts
I was killing time before my ferry and ducked into the little Carnegie library on 10th Street. The librarian showed me their hold system, and instead of those printed slips they tape a bright sticky note with your name on the book. She said they started it after a printer died in 2019 and never went back. It felt so personal that I actually asked her questions for 20 minutes. What small weird thing have you seen a place do that just works better than the normal way?
