Remember when asking friends for advice was the go-to instead of searching online?

I was thinking about this the other day when my neighbor needed to fix a leaky faucet. Back in 2005, he'd have knocked on my door or called his dad, but instead he spent 2 hours scrolling through forum posts from 2016. The fix was literally just tightening a nut, but the online guide overcomplicated it with three different methods. Has anyone else found that asking a real person still ends up being faster than digging through search results?

Right? Talking to someone saves so much trial and error.
