Question about that failed water heater in Phoenix last week

My water heater died Tuesday in Phoenix. 110 degrees outside and no hot water. Called a plumber who said replace it for $1,200 or fix a valve for $200. I went with the fix. It worked for two days then broke again. Anyone else try the cheap fix and regret it?

Skip the fix and just replace it next time.
