Just realized my worst day at the DMV in Reno turned into the best story I've got
I spent 5 hours at the DMV in Reno on Tuesday and it was a total mess from the start. My number was C148 and they were only on B32 when I walked in at 8am. This guy next to me started complaining about the same thing and we just kept talking to pass the time. Turns out he runs a food truck and needed a new title for a used trailer he bought. I told him I was there for a simple address change and he laughed and said I should have just done it online like he did three years ago. We ended up exchanging numbers and he invited me to try his brisket at a spot near Midtown. I went on Thursday and it was honestly some of the best BBQ I've had in years. So what started as a wasted morning actually got me a new friend and a go-to lunch place. Has anyone else had a random DMV or government office chat turn into something actually useful?
Five hours for an address change is still a bad deal no matter who you meet. Yeah you got a free brisket out of it, but that guy doing his online three years ago is the real lesson here. Next time just log in and save yourself the whole morning.
