Can we talk about how I was pruning at the wrong node for two seasons?
A guy at the Oregon Climbing School demo in Portland pointed at my cut and asked why I was leaving a 3 inch stub above the branch collar, and that's when it hit me every cut I made since 2022 was forcing the tree to seal off dead wood instead of healing right, so now I'm wondering how many of you gauge collar depth by eye versus feeling the ridge with your thumb first?
