Warning: people keep cleaning old floppy drive heads with the wrong stuff

I just saved a box of 5.25 inch disks from 1989 by using a cotton swab and pure isopropyl alcohol, not that canned air or screen cleaner junk that can leave a residue and wreck the magnetic surface, so what's your go-to method for delicate parts like this?

Ever try a foam swab for less lint?

Man, that's a smart move. I've seen people ruin good drives with the wrong cleaner. That canned air can spit out moisture or chemicals sometimes. Pure isopropyl on a swab is the only thing I trust for the heads. Lets it dry clean without any gunk left behind. Saved a lot of old gear that way myself.

Read somewhere that even some rubbing alcohols have additives, so I always check the label for 99% pure. What do you look for when you buy yours?
