My 1989 Game Boy finally died last month in the worst possible spot
I was 4 hours into a Pokemon Red save I'd been nursing since Christmas when the screen just went blank, and I traced it to a leaking capacitor that ate a trace on the board. Figured I'd just swap the cap and be back in Pallet Town by dinner, but now the thing won't even power on and I'm out $12 in parts from a seller in Ohio. Did I fry something with too much heat, or is the CPU just done for good?
