Update: watched all of Cowboy Bebop with my kid over 26 nights, and night 24 hit different
My 14 year old finally said yes to watching anime with me. We did one episode a night, 26 nights total, same couch in my living room in Boise. About night 24, the episode with Faye's old tape, my kid went quiet and then asked why nobody in the show just talks about missing people. I did not have a good answer so we sat there for a bit. Then he said the show feels lonely even when they are all on the same ship, and I think that is the whole point. Anybody else watch Bebop with someone younger and get a totally new read on it?
