Dropped $80 on the official Chainsaw Man art book and it was worth every penny

I was on the fence for weeks because it's a lot for one book, but the print quality is amazing and seeing all the rough sketches and concept art for characters like Power totally changed how I see the show. It made me want to go back and watch certain scenes again with a new eye. Has anyone else picked up an art book that made you appreciate an anime more?

Check out the art book for the original Ghost in the Shell movie. It shows how much thought went into every single background prop, stuff you'd never notice while watching. That level of detail makes the world feel truly lived in, not just a painted backdrop.

Totally agree, that kind of background detail is what separates good world building from great. It reminds me of how they filled the Cantina in Star Wars with all those weird aliens, each one having a backstory nobody would ever see. That stuff just builds a world you want to stay in.
