My 2009 MacBook charger died at JFK and the $8 airport fix lasted longer than the $80 Apple one
Honestly I used to baby my gear, but last month at JFK my charger just quit with no warning. I was sitting at gate B27 with 9 percent battery and a client call in 40 minutes. The airport store wanted $80 for a new one, so I walked to the tiny kiosk near baggage claim instead. The guy there sold me a used no name brick for $8 and told me to just unplug it when it got hot. That thing ran my 2009 MacBook for the rest of the trip and is still going 5 weeks later. Tbh I think we baby these old bricks way too much when the cheap beaters do the same job. Anybody else got a cheap part that outlasted the fancy one?
