Took me 4 rolls of film to realize my light seals were shot

Honestly, I kept thinking I was messing up the development process or maybe my camera was just old and finicky. Every roll I shot had these weird light leaks along the edges, and I spent a whole weekend troubleshooting everything else. Turns out, the foam seals on my Canon AE-1 were totally dry-rotted after sitting in a closet for 15 years. A $12 replacement kit and maybe 20 minutes of work fixed it completely. Anyone else spend way too long chasing the wrong problem like this?

Same thing happened with my Pentax K1000, felt like such an idiot afterward.

At least you figured it out before you shot a whole roll @mila_mitchell.
