Told me to shoot at box speed no matter what
Joined a photo walk last spring in Portland and this older guy kept insisting I shoot Portra 400 at 400, never push or pull. I always liked rating it at 200 for softer shadows, but he was pretty adamant. Finally tried a whole roll at box speed on a cloudy day and honestly he was right about the highlights not blowing out. The negatives came out way easier to scan with my Epson V600, less spotting out the window frames. Anyone else find that some advice you ignored for years actually works when you give it a shot?

Yeah box speed really does make scanning way less of a pain!
