Tried frozen fries two ways in my air fryer and the difference was crazy
I used to just dump the bag of frozen fries straight into the basket, but last week I saw a tip online to soak them in hot water for 10 minutes first. I did a side-by-side test with my Cosori air fryer. The soaked ones came out way crispier on the outside and fluffier inside, while the straight-from-bag batch was kinda tough. Anyone else tried this trick or have a different method for perfect fries?

That hot water soak trick is a game changer. I started patting them dry with a paper towel after soaking, gets them even crispier.

Wait, have you ever seen someone get way too into a cooking experiment? My friend did this exact test last month and it was like a whole event. He made two batches of fries and kept making everyone try them blind. I mean, the soaked ones were honestly so much better, like a totally different food. He got so excited about it he started soaking all his frozen potato stuff now. It's kind of funny how a simple tip can make that big of a difference.

Yeah, the "totally different food" part is spot on. I read a whole article about why soaking works. It pulls out the starch so they don't steam as much in the oil. They said it's the same reason some places soak their onion rings before frying. I tried it with hash brown patties from the freezer and it was a huge upgrade, way less soggy in the middle. That simple change really does flip a switch.
